Building the foundation stone of the Lower Silesian Park of Innovation and Science S.A.

On 23 October 2012, a ceremony of symbolic laying of the foundation stone for the construction of the Lower Silesian Park of Innovation and Science with the Technical Park, Technical Incubator, Enterprise Incubator, Workshop Hall and Exhibition Salon was held on the site. The guests included representatives of local government, academic community of almost all public universities in Wrocław, management boards of other technology parks from the region, economic NGOs and companies cooperating with the Park. The ceremony was also attended by representatives of the Cluster of Innovative Technology Association in the Production of CINNOMATECH: President of the Association of Mrs Lilla Jaroń and Vice President of the Association Mr Franciszek Januszkiewicz.

During the ceremony of laying the foundation stone, the President of the Management Board of DPIN spoke first – Professor Edward Chlebus, the originator and unbreakable advocate of science-business cooperation. He reminded the gathered about the origin of the Park – its missions and tasks. Marshal Rafał Jurkowlaniec spoke on behalf of the Marshal's Office, stressing the importance of investment for the region and its hopes. The President of the Wałbrzych Special Economic Zone – Urszula Solińska-Marek, did not hide satisfaction with the pace of the investment and declared further support of the Zone as a shareholder. The voivodship Aleksander Marek Skorupa said that he was very pleased with such investments, because they entered the development strategy of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship as a strong economic thanks to innovation. Wrocław University of Technology - Professor Cezary Madryas, highlighted the role of the emerging complex for the development of entrepreneurship among students and graduates.

After the Act was signed, it was closed in a special brass tube and placed in a time capsule in which there was already a set of circulation coins, a copy of the local press and a project of the Strategy for the Development of the Lower Silesian Voivodeship 2020. The capsule was then closed and placed in a specially prepared bag and partly bricked by guests and hosts of the celebration. Upon completion of the construction, the time capsule will be placed under the reception floor and covered with glass so that every visitor can see it.

Thus ended the ceremony, which was not only a symbolic closure of the ground construction works, but also an opportunity to strengthen and promote the idea of a regional technopark. The time capsule with an erection act was a kind of declaration of the direction of operation and development of the Park, as well as a testimony to the involvement of the creators, co-creators and friends of the Park.
Another ceremony planned at Kwiatkowskiego Street is the opening ceremony of the Park, which will take place after completion of the construction – third quarter of 2013.
