International Conference on Intelligent Systems in Production Engineeringvand Maintenance 2025

"Interdisciplinary education in cybersecurity and AI is no longer an option, but a prerequisite for scale-up of Industry 4.0 and transition to human-oriented Industry 5.0."

On 25–27 June, 5 were held. International ISPM 2025 Conference, which brought together over 200 participants from Poland and abroad. The event attracted the world of science and industry interested in the latest trends of artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, automation, robotics and Industry 4.0.

A particular item of the programme was the International Scientific Debate on "AI uprising in manufacturing industry". Experts from around the world discussed the impact of artificial intelligence on innovation, productivity, labour transformation and ethical challenges associated with its implementation.

We are among speakers such as Professor M. Anthony Xavier of the Vellore Institute of Technology (India) or I. S. Javahir, Institute for Sustainable Manufacturing, University of Kentucky (USA). We exchanged experiences and shared our knowledge by showing how the convergence of AI, OT and cybersecurity redefines productivity, risk models and competence of employees. Our paperSkillSecure Manufacturing shows that investment in human capital today is as strategic as buying robots or sensors – without it "smartfactory’ remains sensitive.

"Skill-Secure Manufacturing" is an integrated concept of human resources skills development (HR-driven upskilling) aimed simultaneously at cybersecurity (IT + OT) and artificial intelligence (AI/ML), treated as a shoreline for full implementation of Industry 4.0. Before the company becomes “smart”, its people must become both skilled (understand digital technologies) and secure (know how to manage them safely).

The fifth edition of the SPEM 2025 co-organised five leading universities from Europe and Asia, and was a real "Living lab" for smart and safe production.

Congratulations to organizers and all speakers – it was a powerful dose of knowledge and networking. See you at the next edition!
